Patient Thanks Crews

Two weeks ago Jacque Holloway woke up next to her husband and realized his breathing wasn’t normal; he was making sounds almost like a snore, but Steve Holloway doesn’t typically snore. Jacque attempted to wake him, without success. Realizing something was seriously wrong, she called 911 and found herself beginning CPR.
Today, Steve and Jacque visited Station 51 and reunited with the crew that, along with Jacque’s quick actions, saved Steve’s life.
“I remember going to bed the night before and then nothing until I woke up in the hospital the next day,” Steve recalled. What he didn’t know is that his wife performed CPR for approximately 6 minutes before CKFRs Firefighters and Paramedics arrived, moved him onto the floor, hooked him up to an AED, and ultimately had to shock him 3 times.
Steve said he didn’t know how to properly thank the crews, but Firefighters assured him that seeing him walk through the station door was all the thanks they needed.

Bremerton House Fire

CKFR crews worked to extinguish a residential structure fire in the 3100 block of NE Seahurst Court, Bremerton.
All occupants safely evacuated. The fire appears to have started on the second floor. The County Fire Marshal will investigate the cause.

Driver Airlifted After Rollover

CKFR responded to a single vehicle accident yesterday at Gold Creek Road and Grada Creek Way. The driver was trapped inside.
Firefighters stabilized the vehicle then safely extricated the driver.
The patient sustained severe injuries and was treated by one of our Paramedics before being transported by Airlift Northwest.
