Kayaker Rescued

At 5:00 pm, CKFR crews responded to a call of a person in distress at Wildcat Lake Park.
A couple had been kayaking when the female occupant fell into the water and became panicked.
Because she was wearing a lifejacket from the life jacket loaner board she was able to stay above water and, with the assistance of others, she was rescued without injury.
CKFR members evaluated her and she was released to go home and rest.
In Central Kitsap there are life jacket loaner boards located at Island Lake, Wildcat Lake, Scenic Beach, and at the Silverdale Waterfront Boat Launch.
Each board holds approximately 12 jackets of various sizes. Please use them and return them so that others may stay safe as well!
