Boater Suffers Medical Emergency

CKFR is on scene of its second water rescue in Dyes Inlet in less than a week. Currently CKFRs Marine 51 and Bremerton Fire Departments Marine 20 are en route. Rescue swimmers will be deployed to make contact with a person having a medical emergency on a sailboat.
Bremerton Fire’s Marine 20 is on scene and, along with CKFR rescue swimmers, made contact with the patient on the sailboat. The patient will be brought to shore and transported to Saint Michael Medical Center by Medic 56.

Water Rescue – Dyes Inlet

CKFR and the US Coast Guard are currently on scene conducting a water rescue in Dyes Inlet off the Silverdale waterfront.
A Coast Guard swimmer is in the water. There is one known occupant of the boat that sank.
The victim has been rescued by the USCG. USCG will meet CKFR at Apex Airport to transport the patient to Saint Michael’s Medical Center.

Green Mountain Fire

The Green Mountain Fire is producing significant smoke in the Central Kitsap area. Residents may notice increased smoke as the evening goes on and temperatures cool.
The fire is 15 acres in size and not contained at this time. DNR is also on scene – there are 3 helicopters, 4 DNR Engines, a bulldozer and CKFR units on scene.

Early Morning House Fire

At approximately 1:26 am this morning, CKFR responded to a personal medical alert at a residence in the 6400 block of Tracyton Boulevard NW. The first unit to arrive on scene observed flames coming from the roof of the home and quickly upgraded the call to a structure fire. Additional CKFR units as well as crews from Bremerton Fire responded. Due to the size of the fire and its extension throughout the home, firefighters were forced to extinguish it from the exterior.
Several hose lines were used to confine the fire to the residence and prevent extension to a nearby home.
The occupant was initially thought to be trapped inside, but was thankfully located safely sitting outside.
The County Fire Marshal is investigating the cause.

Fish Rescued During House Fire

CKFR was dispatched at 11:41 am to a residential structure fire in the 1900 block of NW Green Glen Lane.
While en route they received information that everyone was safely evacuated from both sides of the two-story duplex.
Upon arrival, flames were visible. The occupant that had been home stated the smoke detectors alerted her.
The fire was under control quickly and the County Fire Marshal was dispatched to investigate the exact cause. Navy Region Northwest and Bremerton Fire provided mutual aid.
Pictured are Paramedic Holt and Apparatus Operator Werlech working to revive several fish that were displaced during the fire. CKFR looks to apply the “then some” motto to every call.

Brush Fire On Steep Embankment

The Olympic View Court Fire was dispatched at 11:28 pm. The fire is on the waterfront hillside. It is contained, but still smoldering and access to it is very difficult. A small landslide also occurred, further hampering efforts.
CKFR made the decision to deploy a technical rescue team in an attempt to extinguish the brushfire.
Tech Rescue team members from Poulsbo Fire, Bainbridge Island Fire, Navy Region Northwest, and South Kitsap Fire responded.
The fire is not large in size, but is on near vertical, high bank waterfront with heavy vegetation.

Family Of Six Displaced After Fire

Central Kitsap Fire & Rescue crews were dispatched shortly after midnight for a residential structure fire on Ashley Circle NW in Silverdale.
One of the occupants called 911 after smelling something burning and noticing a glow near the couch. They were able to get everyone out of the home before crews arrived.
Upon arrival, firefighters observed heavy smoke and flames coming from the two-story structure. CKFRs Battalion Chief immediately upgraded the fire to a 2nd alarm and units from Navy Region Northwest Fire & Emergency Services and Bremerton Fire Department were dispatched as well.
There were no injuries to civilians or fire crews. The home is uninhabitable, and the County Fire Marshal is investigating the exact cause.

Dog Dies In House Fire

CKFR was dispatched to a residential structure fire in the 3000 block of Melody Lane, Silverdale, this morning just after 6:00 am.
The four adult occupants were alerted by their smoke alarms and were able to evacuate safely and call 911.
One attempted to put water on the fire with a garden house while waiting for crews to arrive. The fire was upgraded to a second alarm and we received mutual aid from Poulsbo Fire Department and U.S. Navy Region Northwest.
Unfortunately, a dog died in the fire. There is heavy smoke damage throughout the structure and fire damage in the area of the bedrooms.
Red Cross has been dispatched to help the occupants and the County Fire Marshal is on scene to conduct an investigation into the cause.

Cobi Place Fire

CKFR crews are on scene of a 2 alarm house fire in the 7000 blk of Cobi Place NW.
All occupants ARE out of the house.
Due to a partial roof collapse, firefighters are forced to fight the fire from the exterior.
Mutual aid is being provided by Bremerton Fire, Navy Region Northwest, Poulsbo Fire.

House Fire Sends One Person To Hospital

CKFR crews were dispatched to a residential structure fire at approximately 7:25 pm. The fire was in a single family home located in the 6900 block or Navajo Trail NE.
Crews quickly knocked down the fire from the exterior before going interior and extinguishing.
Both occupants (adults) evacuated. One received minor care for smoke inhalation and burns.
The structure suffered significant smoke and fire damage throughout.
The County Fire Marshal is investigating the cause.
