Kids' Day 2009, An Awesome Event!

Kids' Day 2009 was an awesome event! Thank you to everyone who either participated, attended and sponsored the event. Central Kitsap Fire and Rescue officials heard many, many positive comments from kids and adults alike about the energy, enthusiasm and variety of safety messages provided by community organizations and businesses. With your support we provided information about safety and healthy choices to thousands of kids and their families.

The success of Kids' Day is a team effort. Each and every organization and volunteer makes the event fun for families and an honor for Central Kitsap Fire & Rescue to coordinate. We would especially like to thank the 2009 Kids' Day sponsors including: Braces Inc., Bremerton Firefighters I.A.F.F. Local 437, Brewton-Hight Insurance Agency, The Chiropractors Clinic and Massage Therapy Center, Fraternal Order of Eagles Local 192, Harrison Medical Center, Kitsap County Fire Chiefs Association, Kitsap County Fire Commissioners Association, Kitsap County Parks and Recreation, Kitsap Credit Union, Kitsap Insurance Professional, Kitsap SUN, Kohl's Department Store, Leadership Kitsap, Mary Bridge Children's Hospital & Health Center, Professional Firefighters of Kitsap County I.A.F.F. Special recognition goes to Albertsons, Chico Towing, Dominos, Eastside Auto Wrecking, and Suburban Propane for their generous contributions. Thank you too to Region 2 Homeland Security Technical Rescue Team for coordinating their large vehicle extrication class to coincide with Kids' Day so we could all enjoy watching as they learned enhanced rescue techniques. A special thanks also to the Kitsap County Fairgrounds staff who good naturedly set-up the facility and cleaned-up after the event.

Central Kitsap Fire and Rescue is pleased to announce the three winners of the ice cream parties with the Professional Fire Fighters of Kitsap County, IAFF 2819 are: Kennedy Armentrout of Port Orchard, Daniel Norris from Port Orchard, and brothers Adam and Austin Moen of Bremerton. We hope that the many safety messages shared during Kids' Day 2009 are remembered and practiced throughout the years.
