POSITION DESCRIPTIONCAREER FIREFIGHTER/EMT
NATURE OF WORK This position requires a versatile team member capable of performing multiple tasks in potentially dangerous environments, and serves as the first line emergency responder to fire and medical emergencies. The Career Firefighter/ EMT must possess attributes such as judgment, agility, coordination, and intelligence as necessary tools to operate as a team member in a wide variety of situations, both in emergency and non-emergency conditions. Communications skills with patients, supervisors, public and fellow team members are vital for the success of this position. This person often serves as the public's first point of contact, and the District is highly dependent on this member's ability to present a favorable and professional image.
REPORTS TO Shift Lieutenant
SUPERVISION RESPONSIBILITIES The Career Firefighter/EMT may act in a supervisory role as needed, or assigned. Shall assume supervision over subordinate personnel in a like assigned position. May act in an emergency scene supervisory role as needed.
